Hi, I’m Rachael!

I’ve always considered myself, a reader, writer and dreamer. My head has always been full of stories, and over the years I’ve worked in different ways to tell the stories swirling around my head, from word documents full of stories, to SD cards full of photos and videos.

Alongside the stories already in my head, I love reading and collecting books – unfortunately those are definitely two different hobbies, my endless TBR (To Be Read) shelves really do tell their own story… I have a specific soft spot for fantasy and magic, whether they are new worlds with endless worldbuilding: think Lord of the Rings, Discworld and Eragon, or stories that bring magic into our world: think Mortal Instruments, The Night Circus and The Raven Boys.

My favourite season has always been Autumn, there’s something about the changing season, watching the world turn into glorious colours with misty morning, and the creeping of frost that just delights all my senses. It always goes too quickly, but I always make a point to slow down, and take moments to appreciate the world, (and going to a Pumpkin Patch).

I’ve loved taking photos from an early age, I was the person who always borrowed my Dad’s DSLR at any and every family event (partly so I could avoid being in front of the camera), but mostly because I loved taking photos!

During lockdown I took my love of photography and paired it with books, creating a dedicated Bookstagram account (I’d dabbled previously, but this was a shiny new dedicated account!), which is still going five years later! In 2025 I decided to take the step to start my own YouTube channel – finally I didn’t necessarily have the confidence, but decided that wasn’t going to hold me back. 2026 is the year I really want to do more with my baby channel, I’m planning both bookish and sewing content monthly.
